Lyons Move Up to No. 22 After Idle Weekend

The American Basketball Association (ABA) today released its Power Rankings for the week ending Sunday, January 30th and the Chula Vista Suns held onto the #1 position with 2 wins over the weekend. The Suns were followed closely by the Steel City Yellow Jackets who also won. The defending ABA Champion Jacksonville Giants jumped into the Power Rankings for the first time this season having played its ninth game. “This was the most difficult weekend of the season,” stated ABA CEO. “With the terrible snowstorms in the Northeast and upper Midwest combined with a large number of cancellations due to Covid 19 venue availability, we played about half of our regular games. Hopefully that will change next weekend.”

It appears to have been a pretty quiet weekend around the Midwest Region. Scores that we could locate:
No. 7 Georgia Soul 162, Missouri Capitals 84
KC Sizzlers 222, St. Louis Spirits 44 (no, that’s not a typo!)
The No. 13 Music City Jazz and the Clarksville Phoenix played against each other in Clarksville, but apparently something happened toward the end of the game, and the contest could not be completed. We don’t know any more than that.
No. 23 Indiana Lyons were idle.
River City Gamblers appear to have been idle.
