St. Louis Spirits Show Up Late, Then Forfeit to Lyons

For our Purple Out game on Jan. 16, 2022 against the St. Louis Spirits, the Spirits showed up over 30 minutes late to the game and with only three (3) players.

The result was a forfeit by the visiting team. The Lyons are now 9-4 on the season and 9-0 at home.

The Lyons ended up playing an intrasquad scrimmage, instead, and provided everyone in attendance with free tickets to a future Lyons game.

ISC Sports Network’s broadcast of the scrimmage can be viewed here:

Showing their undying support for the Lyons, the fans — affectionately referred to as the Lyons Pride — all stayed to enjoy the scrimmage. The Lyons have received a lot of positive feedback from the Lyons Pride, all of which has been very much appreciated.

The Indiana Lyons travel to Chicagoland next Saturday, Jan. 22 for a road game against the Midwest Falcons. They return to the Lyons Den on Sunday, Jan. 23 for a home tilt against the Burning River Buckets. The Buckets, hailing from the Cleveland, Ohio metro area, have been ranked in the ABA’s Power Rankings for most of the season.

Tickets that were given out in the Lyons Den after the Spirits forfeit will be honored at the Buckets game or at any future Lyons game this season.
