Indiana Lyons Return From Long Road Trip
The Indiana Lyons spent the majority of November on the road but will return to Bosstick Gym in Danville for home games on Dec. 7, 8, 14 and 22.
This Saturday, the Lyons host the Windy City Inferno out of Chicago at 5 p.m. in Bosstick Gym. Doors open at 4 p.m. Tickets are just $10 per person or $5 per child, senior aged 55+, military veteran, active military, or first responder. Children ages 5 and under are free.
This will be the first time that the Lyons have ever faced the Inferno.
On Sunday, the Missouri Capitals come to town from St. Louis to face the Lyons at 4 p.m. in Bosstick Gym. Doors open at 3 p.m.
The Lyons and Capitals have faced off many times over the years, including one of the games on the Lyons’ long road trip, when the Lyons won 135-100 in St. Louis.
November sent Hendricks County’s own professional basketball team to Cincinnati, Peoria, Chicago, St. Louis, and New Castle for a total of six games on the road. During that stretch, the Lyons beat one of their biggest rivals, the Ohio Kings, as well as a team ranked in the Top 10 of the American Basketball Association (ABA), the Southland Saints.
Now sitting at 8-2 on the season, the 2022-23 ABA Champions are ready for some home cooking in December.
“Fan support energizes our players,” said Lyons co-owner, CEO, and head coach Tyrone Brown. “We need the Lyons Pride to show up in full force this month to reenergize our guys as we close out 2024 and the first half of our season. We’ve been gone for so long, we really need to feel our fans’ love.”
The Lyons have added a new facet to halftime entertainment — a half-court shot contest. For just $5 per shot, fans can come on the floor at halftime and attempt what would be a 4-point shot in the ABA. Any fan who makes the shot wins half the cumulative pot, with the other half of the pot supporting the Lyons.
Fans can purchase shot attempts at each home game.
Later in December, the Lyons will host the Akron Aviators and the Indiana Legends, and they travel to Kentucky to face the Maysville Miners, who handed them one of their losses in the very last second of the game.
In a heart-stopping finish at Bosstick Gym in October, the Miners shot the ball with 0.007 seconds remaining and scored the game-winning basket. The Lyons hope to repay the favor mid-month in Maysville.
The Lyons also travel to Chicago to visit the Chi-Town Rebels right before Christmas.
The Indiana Lyons are owned by Hendricks County residents and business owners Tyrone and Deborah Brown.

Indiana Lyons Announce 2024-25 Regular Season Schedule
The defending American Basketball Association (ABA) Central Region Finalists, the Indiana Lyons, completed a clean 6-0 sweep through the preseason on Saturday and are ready for the 2024-25 ABA regular season to begin Oct. 19 at Bosstick Gym in Danville.
The Lyons began their preseason in Bedford, Indiana, with a 3-0 romp through the IBL ProAm Land of Indiana Nationals tournament in early September on their way to claiming the tournament championship. Their championship banner now hangs on the west side of Bosstick Gym.
They returned home to the Lyons Den to dispatch the Indiana Shuckers in Sept. 21 preseason action, followed by home victories over the Chi-Town Rebels on Sept. 28 and the Indiana Legends on Saturday.
The ABA regular season begins for the Indiana Lyons on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. in Bosstick Gym against the Indiana Legends. The Legends are based in New Castle, Indiana.
Many familiar faces return to the Lyons this season, including multi-year ABA All-Star Gerald “Cam” Campbell, Jordan “Flash” Hidleburg, Preston “The Silent Assassin” Case, Phil Bessick, and 7-year veteran Mike Carter. Carter is the heart and soul of the team and the only athlete to play all 7 seasons of the Lyons’ existence.
Some former Lyons have returned to the pride, too. Vince Hill played the first two seasons in franchise history, took some time off to complete his education that includes a Masters Degree, and has returned for 2024-25. Corey Wright is another former Lyon who took some time off and has now returned to the team.
The Lyons also have a new player, Preston Roberts, who lit up the preseason with entertaining dunks, three-pointers, mid-range shots, a truckload of rebounds, and a wonderful personality.
The team invites the public to join them at Buffalo Wild Wings in Avon on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 5 to 9 p.m. for a team fundraiser, where BW3 will donate a portion of their sales that evening to the team.
And, of course, everyone is encouraged to attend the season opener on Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. at Bosstick Gym and cheer the team on to victory.
The Lyons play at home again on Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. against the Maysville Miners out of Kentucky. Doors open an hour prior to each contest.

In their six previous seasons, the Lyons have earned six winning campaigns, six ABA playoff appearances, two regional finalists finishes, two regional championships, and a league championship.
This season’s squad will be coached by Lyons co-owner and CEO Tyrone Brown and Myishea Richmond.
The preseason begins Sept. 7-8 with the IBL ProAm Land of Indiana Nationals Tournament in Bedford, Indiana. All tournament games, including the Lyons’ games, will be live streamed at youtube.com/@minotaurstreaming. Fans are welcome at the tournament, and admission is free.
